青森県五所川原市では、「宇宙毛豆」という枝豆の収穫を子どもたちが体験しました。
宇宙毛豆は、平成22年に実験のために国際宇宙ステーションで4ヶ月間保管された津軽地方の枝豆で、中級に戻った後五所川原高校の生徒達が毎年栽培しています。
